Pizza. Everyone loves it, but there’s more to Lake Gaston Pizza than just being “Best Pizza” (Reader’s Choice of Lake Country 2017). They also serve home cooked breakfast, sandwiches and gyros, salads, subs, and wine and beer. And they do it all while earning a 100 sanitation rating, making everything homemade, and also serving pizza around the lake via their Pizza Pontoon Boat!
Owners Pete and Tami Richardson took ownership of Lake Gaston Pizza in July of 2016. Pete, who had previous experience in the restaurant business explained, “Most of our recipes are handed down from my mother. I have a knack of tasting other dishes at other restaurants and trying to simplify them but putting a twist on it.” He says their favorite part of the business is watching the customers devour their food.
The Restaurant
Tami and Pete pride themselves on providing a quality product, for a reasonable price, in a family environment. Pete says, “We’ve had customers tell us it feels like walking into ‘Cheers’ when they come in. ‘Everybody knows your name.’ I personally try to get to every table and meet my customers and get feedback. Without returning customers we wouldn’t be in business.” He is also proud to be able to say that there are many favorable reviews online and encourages people to see them on their favorite resource, whether it be Yelp, Facebook, Google, etc. Pete invites everyone: “If you haven’t been here but heard how good it is, we’d like to invite you out for a great meal at a great price.”

The Pizza Pontoon Boat
The pizza boat goes out with large cheese, pepperoni, and sausage pizzas. It carries up to 48 pies at a time. It also has cold Italian subs, chicken salad, and tuna salad subs, assorted chips, sodas, and water.
Look for the Pizza Pontoon as it follows this path: “We go to Wobble Island in Pea Hill Creek and then to Goat Island on the main lake. We then go along the shore lines back to Pea Hill Creek, eventually getting back to Wobble Island and then back to Goat Island. The final stop is Wobble Island around 5 pm. Most of the boaters see our flags or call the boat to get its location and meet up with us on the lake. If we get waved down by people on their docks we will stop by and give them what they need. The boat phone number is 252-678-3717.”
