If you’ve never been to see the fireworks over Lake Gaston–or even if you have–it truly is a special experience. It takes place on the last Saturday before July 4th, at the Eaton Ferry Bridge in Littleton. (For Independence Day 2017 it is on Saturday, July 1. Begins at dark, around 9:00pm.)
Not only is it a fantastic fireworks display put on by the Long Bridge Volunteer Fire Department, but seeing the reflections in the lake makes it a doubly awesome experience!
By land, many people gather along the bridge itself, or watch from The Pointe or Watersview restaurants, or the surrounding marinas. By boat, lots are anchored on both sides of the bridge to enjoy the show, then carefully navigate home afterward. Often, the ride home offers the opportunity to see additional fireworks from other areas around the lake.
A few tips for a great evening include arriving early, particularly if you plan to dine at one of the restaurants, and making sure your boat lighting is in good working order if you’re going by boat, as well as taking your time when boating in the dark.
